And I am proud because I believe we have accomplished just that,” Allison said.

That is bull squish. First of all, the race car in question is NOT a Ford Fusion. It may look like one from 500 feet away, and thatt is a far cry from being one. And how Mr Allison can be “proud” about that lie is very disappointing to me.

I stopped watching so much since thay don’t run muscle cars, people want to see mustangs and camaros race.

Not fiberglass.

For the Love of GOD! Why such a foul mouth?

While I don’t like NASCAR, they aren’t fiberglass bodies. They are all 100% handformed sheetmetal by people that have just as much skill as someone who lays up carbon fiber for a Formula 1 team. They also have superbly engineered V8s with carbs on them and are switching to EFI this year, admittedly very late, but those engines and the people that design and build them are just as skilled and as smart as any other racing series engine builder/designer. If you choose to read publications other than Racecar-Engineering there are very well written and detailed articles on what NASCAR engine builders are able to achieve with what they are limited to. I don’t like NASCAR, but to call it dumb is gross ignorance. I also wouldn’t call V8SC as “getting it” because they use engines designed by the manufacturers in the US. Also, their cars are any more stock than these, nothing on those cars is stock save for maybe the headlights and taillights. They’re even more spec than NASCAR because they are moving to a spec chassis and suspension setup. Your comparison is pretty flawed and you should learn more about NASCAR before you make ignorant assumptions.

Actually they’re running EFI this year, and despite its looks I don’t think it is TBI. There is actually less different between the different make Supercars than there is between the different make Cup cars.

The only professional race series in the world that has ANYTHING to do with their road car counterparts is Touring Cars. DTM? Tube frame carbon body. NASCAR? Tube frame steel body. V8 Supercars? Tube frame steel body. LeMans GT? Pretty much tube frame carbon body.

Get off your high horse. It is still racing.

(or have they finally moved to their promised throttle-body single injector spec? you know, the one vaguely reminiscent of the 70s rather than the 50s?)

Nope, NASCAR still has absolutely nothing to do with actual road cars. Just make a touring car series, for the love of god. Or just copy Australia’s V8 Supercars. They fucking get it.
